Pick Your Own Slice of Hudson Valley

Acres of orchards, fresh-pressed cider donuts, and a farm market worth the drive from the city.

About Us

Families have been making the trip out to Fishkill Farms for generations, and the reviews tell you exactly why: people come once and come back ten times a season. Spread across rolling Hudson Valley hillside on Fishkill Farm Road in Hopewell Junction, this is not a photo-op orchard with a few token trees. It is a working farm with real variety, real space, and the kind of apple selection that makes the extra 30 minutes on the road feel like nothing.

The farm draws apple-pickers from Queens, Brooklyn, and well beyond the five boroughs every fall, and the crowds are a testament to what you get when you arrive: row after row of trees, a barn market stocked with locally grown produce, baked goods, hard cider, and the apple cider donuts that regulars plan their whole visit around. Come early on peak fall weekends, the farm fills up fast, and the people who booked morning slots are the ones walking out with full bags and zero regrets.

Beyond apple season, Fishkill Farms operates as a full farm store and gathering place through the warmer months, with summer produce, a cidery, and events that draw the community back again and again. With a 4.4-star rating across more than 2,100 reviews, the reputation here is earned row by row.

What We Offer

The pick-your-own experience is the heart of a visit to Fishkill Farms, with apple varieties spanning the season from late summer through November. Booking an early time slot is strongly recommended, especially on fall weekends when the orchards fill quickly. The farm provides bags and guidance on what is ripe and ready, so you spend your time picking, not guessing.

The farm market is a destination on its own. Fresh-pressed cider, seasonal vegetables, local honey, and a rotating selection of baked goods fill the shelves. The cidery offers hard cider crafted on-site, perfect for sipping on the grounds or taking home by the bottle. And the cider donuts, made fresh and dusted simply, are the thing every first-timer mentions in their review.

Beyond the market, Fishkill Farms hosts seasonal events, fall festivals, and farm experiences that give families a reason to return across multiple seasons. The property is large enough that even a busy Saturday does not feel cramped, and the landscape alone, rolling hills, open sky, Hudson Valley light, makes lingering easy.

"If you’re planning a visit, I highly recommend booking an early time slot. The farm tends to get busy later in the day, especially during peak apple-picking or fall festival weekends, and arriving early gives you a chance to enjoy the peaceful scenery without the crowds. You’ll have more space to explore, take photos, and enjoy the experience at your own pace. For families or groups, wagon rentals are available for just $10, which makes it easy to carry your bags, produce, and little ones around the fields. Between the amazing food, beautiful setting, and well-organized setup, Fishkill Farms offers a perfect day trip for anyone looking to enjoy the best of Hudson Valley’s farm life. Highly recommend!"

"This is my daughters' favorite farm. Every year, we visit more than ten times during the summer. Even though the drive takes an hour and a half, it is well worth it. I highly recommend it—it’s a lot of fun, especially now with the slide they’ve added. My daughters never want to leave; they stay from 10:00 a.m. when it opens until 5:00 p.m. when it closes. I have a great time with the apple cannons myself! I definitely recommend it."

"We drove up from Queens. All the closer orchards were sold out so we did the extra 30 minute drive and were so glad we did. This farm is spread out and has a great variety of apples. The apple cider donuts are by far the best we’ve ever had. Soft, tender and flavorful.. for the donuts alone I’d come back. They also have live music, refreshing squeezed lemonade and lots of food options. You can drive up to the orchard or take their hayride.. would definitely recommend!"

"Great apple picking experience. Make sure to make a reservation in advance so you can drive your car back to the orchard instead of walking. There is an excellent variety of apples in the orchard. They are clearly marked with which apples are ready to pick and which are not. The orchard has excellent food options for meals while you are there. Don't forget to get their fresh donuts!!"

"It feels kind of corporate, just being honest. There are tons of activities and it’s super spacious. There’s a market, food truck, bbq pit, plenty of stuff to keep the kids busy and picking. The cider bar is really cool, but the cider itself was just, eh. Listen, this is one persons opinion and judging by the number of customers this farm is doing just fine. Judge for yourself."
